The fragrance is a floral aldehyde, both classic and feminine. The bottle was made of French glass, designed by Brosse. The nose behind this fragrance was Jacque Vogel.
Vigny was quite strongly associated with both Dana and Molyneux. His perfumes were designed by both Jacques Vogel and his brother Lucien, and the business was situated at 416, rue Saint Honore, in Paris. Like Golliwogg, Heure Intime was another of Vigny's perfumes with packaging design that honored exotic Afro-American performers. While the bottle itself was used for a number of Vigny fragrances, including Golliwogg, the outer box in the early issues of the perfume featured an abstract design suggesting Afro-American jazz dancers. This was, after all, the era of Josephine Baker who, after performances in Boston and New York, had taken Paris by storm with her famous banana dance.The name Beau Catcher fits right along these lines, as the original packaging depicted these dancers! The original bottles, now sought after by collectors, were made by Baccarat and Lalique, presented in beautiful artistic ways devised by Charles Martin.
